Shruta Swarup is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. Before this, she was a DeOlazarra Postdoctoral Fellow in the Political Philosophy, Policy & Law Program at the University of Virginia. She holds a PhD in philosophy from Cornell University. She works in political philosophy, feminist philosophy, and applied ethics. She is especially interested in democratic theory, self-respect, political obligation, and the ethics of consent.
