Assistant Professor Anne Meng has an article in last month's issue of Journal of Conflict Resolution, a leading journal in conflict and security studies. Dr. Meng's article, "Winning the Game of Thrones: Leadership Succession in Modern Autocracies," argues that "constitutional succession rules are critical for modern dictatorships." States that clearly designate a succession system are more likely to see peaceful leadership transitions. This was Dr. Meng's third publication of 2020, including her book, Constraining Dictatorship: From Personalized Rule to Institutionalized Regimes, published by Cambridge.
