Professor David Leblang and Duke political scientist Dr. Sarah Bermeo have co-authored a piece for the Brookings Institution's Future Development blog on the effects of climate change and violence on migration to the US from Honduras. The authors find that decreases in rainfall is associated with higher rates of family migration out of Honduras, and that increases in violence intensify this effect.
