Allison M. Kelley holds a BA in History from Davidson College and a PhD in History from the University of Virginia. Her dissertation, "High on the Mountaintop a Banner is Unfurled: Capitalism, Community, and Latter-day Saints’ Twentieth-Century Economic Vision,” received funding from the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies, the Institute of the Humanities and Global Cultures, and the American Historical Association. Prior to joining the Politics Department, Allison taught in the American Studies Department at UVA while finishing her dissertation and holding the Social Science and Research Council's Religion, Spirituality, and Democratic Renewal Fellowship.
