Biography

Md Obaidullah is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia. His research spans international relations and international political economy, with particular interests in migration, refugees and border politics, international conflict and security, foreign policy and great power competition.

His regional focus is on South Asia and the Middle East. Methodologically, he is interested in qualitative, quantitative, and computational social science.

His scholarship has appeared in Asian Journal of Comparative Politics, Contemporary South Asia, China Report, and SN Social Sciences, and he has contributed to The Diplomat, Asia Times, and East Asia Forum.

Before joining UVA, he earned an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and taught Development Studies at Daffodil International University. He also holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Public Administration from the University of Barishal, Bangladesh.
