Biography
Kirill Zhirkov is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia. His core research interests are in American politics, political psychology, and political methodology. Kirill primarily studies the role of perceptions in the formation of political attitudes, such as opinions on immigration and partisan affective polarization in the United States. His main methodological interests are in the measurement of politically relevant perceptions and preferences beyond standard survey self-reports. Kirill's work has been published in Political Analysis, the Journal of Politics, Political Behavior, and the Journal of Experimental Political Science, among others. He holds a PhD in Political Science and an MA in Statistics from the University of Michigan.
